Thank you for considering Sydney’s newest unique venue – the pyd Building.  Flexibility, versatility and creativity is what we at pyd pride ourselves on.  

Located in Sydney’s newest design and arts precinct, Waterloo, pyd is an award-winning architecturally designed building boasting three unique function spaces;
  • The Atrium- A dramatic, contemporary space, spilling over three levels and featuring a grand staircase, soaring ceilings, natural light, and suspension and lighting system.
     
  • The Warehouse- A blank industrial feel canvas providing you an opportunity to create any desired theme without limitations, to transform for any event. *The Warehouse is available for hire 12 times a year only. Bookings for 2013 are now open.
     
  • The Country Trader- A luxurious space with a multitude of galleries, which will capture your imagination and create any atmosphere, with its ornate furnishings and exclusive decorative collection.

Pyd offers full event management services or allows you the flexibility to take full control of your event.  Our experienced event management team accommodate all styles and budgets and customise functions to ensure memorable and successful event.  Whether your style is a contemporary flavour or you choose to utilize the resources of over 6000 props available from, The Country Trader to be used within the pyd venue.

We were directed to Waterloo and into the Pyd building, home of the massive antique treasure house The Country Trader, where the wealthy and elite were being filtered through several entrances into what looked like the ancestral chateau of a decadent, slightly mad but generous aristocrat. Chandeliers festooned the ceiling and guests were arranged at various antique dining tables and on ancient chairs (mine had a price tag on it that made me flinch). The Country Trader owner, Geoffrey Clark, had brought out the best china, a 200-year-old Limoges dinner service, and on it were suitable delicacies: black-truffle risotto and lobster, scallop and snapper pie. It was the sort of lavish atmosphere designed to inspire matching donations.

The Country Trader played host to two spectacular 'Winter Dinners', with 200 guests attending over two spectacular nights. The antique gallery transformed into an amazing dining space creating an image of guests seated at one large table ‘last supper’ style. When Winter Dinners were over we “Painted The Town Red’ for Camp Quality’s Chandon Supper Club,The Country Trader was one of 50 venues around Sydney to donate a table for 12 to dine, with all funds going to children and families with cancer.

The Country Trader played host to two spectacular fine dining winter dinners with 200 guests attending over two nights. The antique gallery transformed into an amazing dining space creating the impression guests were seated at one large table ‘last supper’ style. Individaul tables held 8 guests with 12 tables in total. Tables were vertically aligned consuming the entire lenght of The Country Trader floor space. Intimate sofa seatings were arranged in individual showrooms allowing guests to move from dining table to sofa for roaming desserts, tea and coffee, on conculsion of the sit down dinner.

The pyd warehouse was set up for an information seminar and presentation for 300 guests with exhibition spaces for sponsors. The seminar event space was designed in an auditorium style with six presentation speakers on the day. Following the presentation guests moved into the pyd Atrium for a cocktail party.

Guests were treated to an unforgetable evening in the pyd Warehouse. An 'eye's wide shut' theme featured Chadwick models swinging from the rafters, contortionists, dwarfs, male topless models and a magician as entertainment for the evening. Props included bedding, draping, swings, couches, candleabras, ice sculpture, staging, red carpets and a cocktail bar.
