The launch of the new Green star ratings has driven home the key role lighting plays in sustainability. As a founding member of the German Sustainable Building Council, Nimbus have long been instrumental in bringing green solutions to the lighting industry. Their products are energy efficient, produced with minimal resource impact, and are long wearing with minimal maintenance requirements. Nimbus’s LED next technology has been used by architectural firm Behnisch Architekten (Stuttgart, Germany) as the primary lighting for the “House in a House” component of Hamburg’s Chamber of Commerce and Trade. Using the LED next technology has provided the project with an exceptional monitory save of 345,000€ predicted for the first four years without the lighting falling below 500lux at workstations. But perhaps more importantly, using Nimbus’s LED next range has allowed the architects to create a five story light box of exceptional beauty within best green practice.
